Scholars across many fields have come to realize that ritual is an integral element of human life and a vital aspect of all human societies. Yet, this realization has been slow to develop among scholars of early Christianity.

This is a great talk and I am a huge fan of Dr. Muir’s work. Rituals and the “props” used in them help us connect with the archetypes that live in the collective unconscious and through the mythos, help us make sense of the logos. They do so by “triggering” memories, feelings and archetypal behaviour, regardless of whether or not we are aware and thus act as a bridge between the past and present, the physical and the spiritual.
